Data recovery involves reconstructing the data that remains on the storage media. After accidental deletion, formatting or a device fault, we inspect the device and assess what may be recoverable. Recovery of all data or fully readable files cannot be guaranteed. For hardware faults, work may involve repairing or replacing parts in a cleanroom environment. The approach and availability of suitable parts depend on the device model and fault.

Usually, server/RAID consist of 2 or more hard disks, the first step we should do is to solve the hardware problem. For example, when 2 of the hard disks got head failure, we need to make clone image for both hard disk, then analyze & rebuild the whole RAID to recover data. The structure of different server and RAID system may not be same, but we have well experience to handle different kinds of failure.

Please make sure you don’t install the software in the original hard disk and no other hardware failure was found, otherwise it only makes the problem getting worse.
Do not power up the hard disk

Data loss caused by defragmentation
However, if a defragged hard disk has been used for a long period of time, the chance of recovery will become lower.
