Vector Data Recovery
Vector Data Recovery was founded in Korea in 1990 and focuses on recovering data stored on all kinds of hard disks, tapes, MO discs, memory cards and other media. At the end of 2005, Vector’s data recovery service was formally introduced to Hong Kong. Moreover, Vector is Western Digital (WD)’s designated data recovery provider in China, so even if a WD disk has been opened, it is still eligible for warranty service in mainland China.
Completely free inspection
Users only need to bring the faulty hard disk to the customer service department for a free inspection, and they will receive a quotation after waiting about 30 minutes. Charges for general hard disk data recovery range from $2,500 to $8,000, depending on capacity and specifications. Hard disks that use a SCSI interface, a RAID array or a non-Windows operating system format cost more to recover. In addition to restoring data from hard disks, Vector also provides data recovery services for memory cards and USB Thumb Drives, with charges ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.
Rescuing files with a mirror image
If a hard disk cannot be read because of a hardware problem, the company sends it to the cleanroom laboratory in Shenzhen to have parts replaced, and the data can be recovered in about 10 days. Benjamin added that the recovery staff first make a Mirror Image (image file) of the data on the hard disk and then use it for the recovery work, so as to minimise wear on the hard disk. If the data cannot be rescued, the company charges no fee whatsoever.
